I'm cute and funny and so is this.

                Welcome  letter  from  Dr. PASQUANTONIO

Hello

OHP4C addresses a serious subject :YOUR HEALTH.  Oral health is an integral, vital, part of your overall HEALTH.

We  have ONE, WHOLE, INTERGRATED, HUMAN BODY.

OHP4C consumers' educational arm uses speaking engagements (for consumers, consumer advocates, and government or medical personnel who make choices for consumers) to educate.  Email info@ohp4c.com to set up a time.

The educational arm of OHP4C is also responsible for this consumer website. The website is written in everyday language free of as many medical/dental terms as possible. Any non-everyday terms that are used are explained in parentheses. OHP4C realizes that our readers are smart, savvy consumers...yet just as I cannot easily understand concepts when my engineer husband gets going with technical terms about solar cells...it is expected that most consumers are not conversant with medical and dental terminology. The goal is to communicate scientifically based information about oral health that can be easily  understand.

Since the subject is huge and the short articles are now dense, I have chosen to employ two characters to guide you. It is my hope these characters will make you SMILE...and use all your facial muscles. O Tee (full name: Don Keyotee) will be your guide through the website...pointing to things of special interest OR articles that should be read as a cluster. Fred (full name: Fred the frog) will be used as a foil for me as well as to spout, sometimes in unconventional ways, the erroneous information pervasive in our "everyone knows" minds.  If you listen to Fred's and my banter over the months you will be healthier and save money.

WELCOME  Smiling is healthy. Do it often!                                      Valentina Pasquantonio, DDS, FAGD

WHY WE FEAR THE DENTIST:

If you are afraid of the dentist know that this fear is normal and natural for the following reasons:

  • most dental procedures take away your ability to communicate...hands, instruments, goop of all sorts are put into your mouth taking away your ability to speak, sometimes to swallow, often to breathe through your mouth.
  • PAIN: physical, and/or psychological, and/or financial. Sometimes all three.
  • fear of the UNKNOWN; an inability to control your body, not just in the moment but overall concerning your oral health. There is an INFORMATION DEFICIT; what 'everybody knows' doesn't work to prevent oral health and dental problems...frustration and a feeling of defeat lead to fear.
